El Cuatro in the Tennessee EMM Finals

Dad and El Cuatro in the Tennessee EMM Finals. El Cuatro was blind folded for the entire performance. The song is Horses In Heaven..... And YES... There will be horses in Heaven. God gave us these beautiful animals to love and enjoy here... Why would we think they wouldn't be in heaven.... Listen and enjoy the song as you watch the video. We have been truly blessed.

Horses In Heaven
Had to bury my best horse last evening
It was the saddest thing I’ve ever done
We’d rode a lot of hard miles together
He was a big hearted son of a gun
And in the wake of his final few moments
His eyes seemed to say we’ll meet again
And then and there I was faced with a question
That I’d been ponderin’ since I don’t know when

Will there be horses in heaven
A place where all good horses go
Will the studs and the mares
Be running in pairs up there
When He gathers His fold
Dear Lord, I’m sure needin’ to know

In my sorrow I turned to the bible
Like my mom and dad taught me to do
And I read in the great Revelations
‘Bout the One they call Faithful and True
It is written that He and His armies
On white horses will come back at last
And my heart sang for joy with the answer
To a question all cowboys have asked
Will there be any horses in Heaven
A place where all good horses go
Will the studs and the mares
Be runnin' in pairs up there
When He gathers His fold
Dear Lord, thanks for lettin' me know

El Cuatro

This is a photo of the Mustang Dad will competing with in Murfreesboro, TN in October. Isn't he beautiful... I know I keep saying it, but I don't know what it is about the Mustangs that just make you fall in love with them at first sight.... I am smitten again... Of course, Tres is still my number one fella...

Tres - Supreme EMM 2010 Day 10

The Day 10 lesson was almost 2 hrs. long. The video is excerpts from the first day under saddle. Notice, Tres makes exactly 5.5 really good rounds before the tantrum begins... BTW, Dad looks pretty darn good too doesn't he, especially considering he will be 72 on Sept 21... Love you, Dad!

Tres - Supreme EMM Day 5

Day 5, May 12, 2010.... Dad and Tres are working together.... Dad had his radio on, as usual, when he is video recording. Of course he can't hear it in the round pen. Looks like the workout was choreographed to the song "Friends"... Amazing what you notice when you are reviewing the videos.

Meet Tres

I am SO excited. Dad and I adopted Tres. I met Dad in Piney Woods, MS, where we were formally introduced. I am pleased to present Tres, our new Mustang. Isn't he beautiful! Just wait and see what he looks like after a little love and care :) We brought him home Friday evening, and this is his first outing on Monday. This is his first time to be led on a halter, and we are on the way to the round pen. So many firsts that initial week. I try to imagine what all must be going through his head.

Tres - Supreme EMM 2010 Day 3

I made a little video of Tres' first little tantrum..... Dad and I were wondering if we were gonna spend the night at the round pen.... This was on Day 3... So many firsts. First out of the stall, in the round pen, use of a haltar, and NOT IN CONTROL.... He was not a happy camper....

Horses In Heaven

"Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. And the one sitting on the horse was named Faithful and True." Revelation 19:11

Horses in Heaven
An old man and his horse were riding down this dirt road with fences on both sides. They came to a gate in the fence and looked in; it was nice, with grassy, woody areas ---- just what a old horse and man would like, but it had a sign saying 'No Trespassing' so they walked on.
They came to a beautiful gate with a person in white robes standing there.
"Welcome to Heaven" he said.
The old man was happy and started to ride his horse in.
The gatekeeper stopped him.
"Animals aren't allowed, I'm sorry but he can't come with you."
"What kind of Heaven won't allow animals?
If he can't come in, then I will stay out with him.
He's been my faithful companion all his life, I can't abandon him now."
"Suit yourself, but I have to warn you,
the Devil's on this road and he'll try to sweet talk you into his area
-- he'll promise you anything--but the horse can't go there either.
If you won't leave the horse, you'll spend Eternity on this road."
So the old man and horse rode on.
They came to a rundown fence with a gap in it:
no gate, just a hole. Another old man was inside.
"S'cuse me Sir, my horse and I are getting mighty tired,
mind if we come in and rest in the shade for awhile?"
"Of course, there's some cold water under that tree over there, along with
a bucket to water your horse. Make yourselves comfortable."
"You're sure my horse can come in?
The man down the road said animals weren't allowed anywhere."
"Would you come in if you had to leave the horse?"
"No sir, that's why I didn't go to Heaven; he said the horse couldn't come in.
We'll be spending Eternity on this road, and a glass of cold water and some
shade would be mighty fine right about now. But, I won't come in if my buddy
here can't come too, and that's final."
The man smiled a big smile and said "Welcome to Heaven."
"You mean this is Heaven? Horses ARE allowed?
How come that fellow down the road said they weren't?"
"That was the Devil and he gets all the people who are willing to give up a life-long companion for a comfortable place to stay. They soon find out their mistake, but then it's too late.
The animals come here, the fickle people stay there.
GOD wouldn't allow animals to be banned from Heaven.
After all, he created them to be man's companions in life,
why would he separate them in death?"
