I Saw A Child

A lady from my church gave me this poem and it moved me so I want to share it

I Saw a Child
I saw a child who couldn't walk,
Then sit on a horse, laugh and talk.
He rode it through a field of daisies
and yet he could not walk unaided.
I saw a child, no legs below,
sit on a horse, and make it go
through woods of green
and places he had never been
to sit and stare,
except from a chair.
I saw a child who could only crawl
mount a horse and sit up tall
Put it through degrees of paces
and laugh at the wonder in our faces.
I saw a child born into strife,
take up and hold the reins of life.
And that same child was heard to say,
"Thank God for showing me the way...

What's A Round Pen?

Have you ever wondered what the horse must be thinking? Who does this dude think he is? He puts me in this round thing, points his finger, swings something at me and makes this weird clucking sound which isn't real common in the wild! - What the heck is all of this supposed to mean? And you want me to do what?!?

Everything is a Training Tool

You know, Dad manages to make everything, even a tree stump, a training tool....

2009 Extreme Mustang Makeover

Well, guess what, Dad has put his name in the hat for the 2009 Extreme Mustang Makeover to be held in Tennessee. If he is selected as a trainer, the competition will be in October.... I believe he will be selected.... He and I went to Road To The Horse this year as our weekend getaway and had a great time!! Most of you know, we decided several years ago to make memories rather than buy gifts for holidays. So this was one of our make memories excursions. I treasure these times together! And the horse competition was great!!!

Take A Load Off

Here is Sierra and Dad, just taking a load off at the trailer....

Well, the competition is over, and life is back to normal, if there is such a thing. Dad has told everyone that he is retired from horse training. He wants to spend time training his own horses. I can't express how proud I am of his desire continually learn new things. You know, there are people in this world that just have a God given gift, and working with horses is his. He decided that he wanted to teach his horse to sit, and he DID!
